Der große Schriftsteller, Dichter und Sänger Leonard Cohen (1934 – 2016) veröffentliche das Lied „Dance Me to the End of Love“ im Jahr 1984. Es ist ein Liebeslied, aber es ist auch inspiriert vom Holocaust und von den Orchestern in den Vernichtungslagern („burning violin“). Mehr und Cohens eigene Ausagen dazu in einem Interview 1995 finden sich z.B. bei Wikipedia oder auch im Blog des österreichischen jüdischen Museums („Koshere Melange“). Interessant ist z.B. auch die Diskussion „Dance me to the end of Auschwitz“ im Leonard Cohen Forum aus dem Jahr 2004.
